Six years of impact: how clinical expertise and compassion have shaped More Than Support
This month, we proudly celebrate six years of delivering high-quality, person-centred support to people with disability across Australia.
More Than Support began with the vision of Carmen Mendez, a founder with a medical background and a deep understanding of complex care. From the very beginning, Carmen embedded clinical excellence into the heart of our service model, building a team that could not only support but truly understand the needs of participants with complex and diverse requirements.
Where we are today
In six years, we’ve grown into a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and deeply committed organisation. Our journey is reflected in the numbers:
130+ highly skilled staff, many with backgrounds in nursing, allied health, and clinical care
90+ participants currently receiving a wide spectrum of support, from Support Coordination to Daily Assistance
5 properties offering SIL (Supported Independent Living) and SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) services
A proudly multicultural community, both in our staff and participants, where diversity of experience and language is seen as strength
With such a solid clinical foundation, our team is uniquely positioned to support individuals with complex needs, delivering care that’s not only safe and effective, but also compassionate and inclusive.
The value of partnership
As we reflect on this milestone, we are honoured to be surrounded by long-standing partners and collaborators who have walked this journey with us.
One of those is NGO Training Centre, whose generous words remind us of the impact of shared values:
"Partnering with More Than Support over the past five years has been an absolute pleasure for NGO Training Centre. What a truly inspiring organisation to work alongside! Carmen, Estefania, Natalia, and the entire More Than Support team are deeply committed to both professional development and personal growth. Their dedication to delivering genuine, inclusive care to every client is something we admire greatly.
As a training provider, our relationship has grown into a true partnership—built on collaboration, trust, and shared values.
Happy Birthday, More Than Support! We’re proud to be part of your journey and wish you continued growth and ongoing success in all you do!"
— The NGO Training Centre Team
Another key collaboration has been with Nightingale, whose partnership has helped us explore new ways to enhance our service through technology and innovation:
"Over the past 12 months, our relationship with the MTS team has grown into a true strategic partnership. We've collaborated closely, connecting MTS with other local customers to foster shared learning and innovation. MTS has been highly engaged, actively exploring how technology can enhance their operations and maximise the ROI from our platform. Through many collaborative discussions and initiatives, we've built a strong, forward-looking partnership that continues to deliver value on both sides."
— Dan Greco, Account Manager, Nightingale
Looking forward
As we look toward the future, our focus remains clear: to continue providing care that’s rooted in clinical excellence, cultural awareness, and authentic human connection. Whether it's in the home, the community, or behind the scenes in strategy and innovation, we’ll keep doing what we do best, supporting people in living full, safe, and empowered lives.
Happy 6th Birthday, More Than Support, here’s to continuing to lead with care, capability, and heart.
