More Than Support provides Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports in a range of living environments across Western Melbourne. Our approach is centred on helping you live as independently as possible, with support tailored to your needs, preferences, routines and goals. We also offer access to a range of shared and sole-occupancy homes where SIL supports may be provided.

Whether you're looking for a shared home or a more independent living arrangement, our properties are conveniently located close to Western Health hospitals and essential community services. Participants can receive personalised daily support, including assistance with personal care, household tasks, and community participation, helping them achieve their goals while enjoying the comfort of a home that suits their needs and preferences.

More Than Support works closely with participants, families, Support Coordinators, Local Area Coordinators (LACs), hospitals, allied health professionals, and a trusted network to help find the right housing solution. We provide clear information about rental arrangements and household costs before you move in, including applicable rent and utilities. Please note that SIL funding does not cover rent or groceries.

What is Supported Independent Living?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is NDIS funding that provides assistance with daily tasks for participants who have complex needs and often prefer assistance in a home environment or shared housing. SIL focuses on helping individuals build skills and live more independently.

If you have a pet with you or planning to have one, or don’t mind living with a housemate who already has one, make sure to let us know.

What does SIL include?

SIL covers the cost of support for:

  • Personal care and daily living tasks

  • Skill development to increase independence

  • Supervision and assistance with activities
