Sometimes your long-term home is not ready when you need to leave your current accommodation. Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) may provide a temporary place to stay while you wait to move into your longer-term home.
At More Than Support, we understand that having a safe and suitable place to stay during this transition can make an important difference. Our MTA options are designed to provide a comfortable temporary living environment while your longer-term housing arrangements are being finalised.

What is Medium term Accommodation?
Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) is NDIS funding that can help cover the cost of temporary accommodation when you cannot yet move into your long-term home.
MTA is generally funded for up to 90 days and is intended as a temporary solution while you transition into your longer-term living arrangement.
MTA is not emergency accommodation or a permanent housing solution. You must have a home that you can move into once the reasons preventing you from moving there have been resolved.
What does MTA cover?
MTA funding covers the cost of the temporary accommodation.
It does not cover everyday living expenses such as:
food and groceries
internet or telephone
electricity and other household costs
personal care or other disability supports.
Your approved NDIS supports are funded separately and may continue while you stay in MTA.
When might MTA be suitable?
MTA may be considered when your long-term home is not yet ready for you to move into. For example, you may be:
Waiting for an appropriate Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) property to become available or ready
Waiting for approved home modifications to be completed
Temporarily unable to move into your long-term home while your disability-related housing arrangements are being finalised.
Your eligibility for MTA depends on your individual circumstances and NDIS requirements.

MTA is intended to bridge the gap between your current situation and your long-term home.
The goal is to help you have a suitable place to stay while you work towards moving into your longer-term accommodation. MTA is generally funded for up to 90 days, subject to your individual circumstances and NDIS requirements.
